Hastings Pier has always been a Mecca for drum & bass ravers. Back in the day the likes of Brockie, Shy Fx, Andy C, Mampi Swift, DJ Hype & Zinc could be found regularly playing on the pier at the Heat, One Nation & Jungle Fever events that used to take place in the venue at the end of the wooden promenade.
Summer 2021 has seen a series of events taking over Hastings Pier hosted by the Breakin Science & Worried About Henry promotion teams, featuring artists such as Wilkinson, Kings Of The Rollers, Inja, EZ, Hannah Wants, Turno & Mollie Collins.

Andy C Back In Hastings
This weekend saw the return of The Executioner… Andy C was back on the pier so we had to be there!
There were other names on the bill as well who were just as enticing; Sub Focus, Harriet Jaxxon, Northbase, plus LoveThatBass label artists Kleu.
We’ve curated 10 pictures that capture the action & energy of the day. Also check our Instagram for a few back stage videos from the event.

Heat On Hastings Pier
While most 90’s drum and bass ravers fondly remember Heat on Hasting Pier, it was a totally different & more literal form of heat that ultimately put a stop to raves at the venue.
The original pier opened in 1872 but was closed in 2006 because of fears it had become unsafe. In 2010 a major fire destroyed most of Hastings Pier.

In 2016 the pier was opened to the public again following a multi million pound grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund which transformed it into an award winning versatile space that can be used for events, markets & more.
