S.P.Y. Residency Takes Over XOYO

London’s most exciting underground club space XOYO continues its run of residencies hosted by drum & bass artists by revealing the a brand new take over from S.P.Y.

S.P.Y.’s Drum & Bass Journey

Brazilian-born drum and bass artist S.P.Y. began his musical journey in the early 2000’s when he started experimenting with music production. His talent quickly caught the attention of influential figures in the drum and bass scene, leading to releases on luminary labels such as Med School, Critical Recordings, Metalheadz, 31 Records, Sprearhead Records, Quarantine, Soul:R, and C.I.A.

Signing to Hospital Records in helped him reach a broader audience, releasing a string of successful albums and singles through the label. His debut album, ‘What the Future Holds’, released in 2012, received critical acclaim and showcased his diverse production skills. This was followed by two more albums for Hospital Records, ‘Back To Basics’ in 2014, and the incredible ‘Dubplate Style’ in 2019.

In 2021 S.P.Y. launched his own label DARKMTTR Records to release both his own music & to push artists such as IAMDOOMED, Jaydan, DJ Hybrid, Bredren & Deep Notion.

S.P.Y. Residency Line Up

The S.P.Y. Residency at XOYO will be taking place every Friday throughout November, with the first date kicking off on 03/11/23.

Over the 4 weeks of November he’s curated a line up of talent encompassing all flavours of Drum & bass music, with acts such as Voltage, Enta, Charla Green, The Sauce, Kyrist, Calyx, Etherwood, Alley Cat, Flava D, IAMDOOMED, plus MC’s Inja, Lowqui, Stamina, Trafic, SP:MC & Frentic.
