This pioneering spirit was on full, breathtaking display recently in the classical heartland of Vienna, Austria, as the legendary Austrian duo Camo & Krooked took centre stage for an awe-inspiring edition of Red Bull Symphonic.
For two unforgettable nights at the famed Konzerthaus, the pair—alongside the immense talents of conductor and arranger Christian Kolonovits and the esteemed Wiener Symphoniker orchestra—delivered a truly unique performance. This wasn’t just a D&B set with a few strings; it was a masterful collision of two worlds. The crowd was treated to the duo’s signature high-energy basslines and intricate breaks, meticulously interwoven with the soaring, timeless melodies of classical master Johann Strauss. This landmark event follows the incredible path forged by drum & bass godfathers Fabio & Grooverider, whose pioneering D&B orchestra show proved the genre’s capacity for such grand scale. Ram Records also showcased an incredible orchestral show featuring tracks from the labels impressive back catalogue. It’s a testament to D&B’s maturity that it can now command the stage alongside a world-class orchestra, further cementing the movement’s place in the broader musical landscape.
