DJ Hype Wins DJ Mag Award

-

This year marks the 14th annual DJ Mag Best Of British Awards, their celebration of UK talent, a counter-balance to their more house music orientated global Top 100 DJs poll.

The DJ Mag Best Of British Award 2020 nominees were a showcase of the homegrown talent that continues to place the UK scene at the forefront of electronic music, with names such as Carl Cox, Hudson Mohawke, Ghetts, MJ Cole & Mistajam all getting nominee recognition

Award Winner

We’re pleased to say that drum and bass legend DJ Hype won the Soldier Of The Scene award, for his long standing service & dedication to the UK music scene. Speaking to DJ Mag he said…

“It’s lovely to get this award and get recognised by your magazine. I think people voted for me because I have always pretty much been known as a soldier of the scene anyway. I work much better when I please myself first rather than worry about what other people think in this industry, and that’s what got me big in the first place. After all, I ain’t a game player… I am a True Playa!”

D&B Nominees

Other name from the D&B scene that got nominations were, Doc Scott for Best Solo Stream Series, RAMLive House Party in the Best Multi-Artist Stream Series category, Bryan Gee’s ‘Future’ album on V Recordings was included for Best Compilation, and Krust represented in the Best Album selection for his recent ‘The Edge Of Everything’ LP
