Doc Scott is a certified pioneer in the drum and bass scene! From way back in the early 90’s Doc Scott was earning a reputation for himself playing at events such as Amnesia House & the infamous Eclipse Club in Coventry.
His productions as both Doc Scott & Nasty Habits have been ground breaking. Releases on Reinforced Records, Metalheadz & his own 31 Records label have set the standard for this genre. His DJ residency at the Metalheadz Blue Note Session are the stuff of legend
The Tweet
Given his illustrious D&B career, when he posted this tweet, back in August, we can only imagine there were serious WTF’s being directed to whoever is in charge of these things at the BBC…
You know I’ve never done or been considered for a BBC essential mix, now I’m not bitching, although I probably am by tweeting this, but I’m just saying there are a way less (IMO) DJ’s that have done one, but, hey I’m a soldier & not a flavour of the month, would be nice tho’ …

The Responses
Serum was one of the first to respond saying “Really needs to be done“. René LaVice, the resident D&B presenter at BBC Radio 1, said “A Doc Scott essential mix is long overdue“. There were load of tweets to say that every Doc Scott mix is essential. The Executioner himself, Andy C, responded with a tweet saying “Mate! I can’t begin to tell you what an influence your music was and still is to me. Salute to you, always essential“
Well it seemed someone at the BBC was paying attention as on 23rd Nov, a full 3 months after the original tweet, Doc Scott posted this…
Who remembers this tweet from a few months ago?
