Krust’s album ‘The Edge Of Everything’ has been nominated in the Best Independent Album category at this years AIM Awards. Even more noteworthy, Krust is the only drum & bass artist to be in the running, testament to just how good this album is!
The Best Independent Album category, in association with Spotify, is only open to albums from self-releasing artists or those signed to an independent label based in the UK or ROI. The final nominees and winners of this award will be decided on 25th August by a panel of expert judges.

The Edge Of Everything
Released in November 2020 ‘The Edge Of Everything’ was Krust’s first album in 14 years!! As a body of work the album has a very cinematic sound to it. While it is primarily a drum & bass album, it’s D&B done the way Krust does D&B!
This isn’t music by numbers ‘The Edge Of Everything’ is the natural sonic evolution from the artist who gave us pioneering anthems like ‘Warhead’ & ‘Soul In Motion’. There are tangiable, audible links between ‘Coded Language’, Krusts 1999 collaboration with Saul Williams, and ‘Antigravity Love’ from this most recent album.
I’d recommend listening to ‘The Edge Of Everything’ from start to finish, ideally with no distractions. Take some time, put your headphones on & let the music play.
No Stranger To Awards
Of course Krust is no stranger to awards success. For those of you that may not know your jungle history, Krust was part of the iconic Reprazent collective along with Bristolian jungle pioneers, & follow Full Cycle record label artists, DJ Die, Suv & Roni Size.
In 1997 the ‘New Forms’ album by Reprazent won both the acclaimed Mercury Prize for ‘Best Album’ & a MOBO gong for ‘Best Jungle Act’.
AIM Awards
The AIM Awards 2021 marks the twenty-second year of the Association of Independent Music (AIM) and champions industry-leading creativity, innovation, and performance shown by independent artists, labels, and outstanding individuals.
BBC 1Xtra DJ Tiffany Calver, who’ll be presenting the award ceremony, said:
“Having presented the ceremony in 2020, this will be marking a year of the world being in a global pandemic, a year where music and community really helped so many of us get through the tough times.”

“To be able to celebrate the innovators and independent artists that flourished through such a challenging period is a true honour. I’m so excited to be co-hosting alongside Jamz this time, and continuing to champion great music as we have both done on a weekly basis with our individual shows and channels.”
Since 2010, the AIM Independent Music Awards have honoured an extraordinary array of independent artists, music companies and industry figures including: Björk, Stormzy, Adele, The Prodigy, Peggy Gou, Wolf Alice, London Grammar, Jorja Smith, Christine and the Queens, Daughter, SOPHIE, 4AD, Ninja Tune, Transgressive, Martin Mills (Beggars), Goldie and Steve Beckett (Warp).
