From Boxing Day until New Year’s Day, BBC Radio 1 will be showcasing some of the hottest breakthrough talent on the airwaves by giving 33 new DJs and presenters the opportunity to broadcast on one of the worlds most listened to radio stations!
Laurie Charlesworth will be stepping up to host the BBC Drum & Bass Show, while regular host René LaVice takes a well earned break for the seasonal period

Experience
Of course Laurie is no stranger to radio, she assisted for two years on DJ Hype’s show at Kiss FM, has freelanced for BBC 1Xtra, the Asian Network, and for the past 5 years has hosted the Evening Show on Vibe 107.6 specialising in dance music
In 2019 as part of Radio 1’s previous Christmas Presenters search, Laurie became the first woman ever to host the Drum & Bass Show!!

As for her D&B credentials they’re solid! She was a producer on DJ Hype’s Kiss FM show, has done extensive work for D&BArena, sprinkled her bubbly personality on countless video interviews at events such as MADE Festival, Hospitality In The Park & Innovation In The Dam. She has also worked in artist management with the likes of Andy C & Adam F
