In a statement released on their social media channels yesterday, Chase & Status announced that their ongoing partnership with MC Rage would be coming to an end.
The short but heartfelt message read;
“After an incredible 14 years of touring the globe together, from nightclubs to festivals; our Brother MC Rage is moving on to pursue solo ventures. We wish him all the greatest of success with Rebel Clash & everything else he chooses to do. ?”

MC Rage
Born and bred in Forest Gate in East London, MC Rage is one of the original dons of the drum & bass scene. Raised on a diet of reggae music from a young age, Rage forged his own path through the music industry MCing at early drum & bass events, and playing in punk bands. His punk influence can clearly be heard on the track ‘Nervous’, vocalled by MC Rage, which features on the 2017 album ‘Tribe‘ by Chase & Status
Front Man For Chase & Status
While Chase & Status were the driving force behind the music, Rage has been the front man and all round vibes machine for the group throughout their meteoric rise to fame. His anarchic presence has elevated their live shows & DJ sets at festivals & club shows across the world.
In 2014 MC Rage fronted the Rebel Sound all star team up alongside Chase & Status, Shy FX & Sir David Rodigan at the Red Bull Culture Clash.
Rebel Clash
MC Rage’s Rebel Clash moniker was born out of his Jamaican heritage & deep appreciation for the Jamaican sound system culture. His early influences where his uncles, the legendary Papa Michigan & General Smiley who where signed to the infamous Studio One label & had further productions on Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong imprint.
Rebel Clash is a culmination of MC Rage’s love & passion for playing reggae music on vinyl & acetate dubplates.
