DJ Reddeye
This Showcase Session Mix is supplied by DJ Reddeye. He first got into DJing at the tender age of just 13 years old, and spent most weekends lurking in the basement of the infamous Blackmarket Records. Over time though music fell to the wayside, but he recently re-discovered his passion & supplied us with a banging Jungle / D&B slanted mix.
When discussing his DJ experience over the years he told us “Although I felt there was always that I had a talent for mixing, I never really pursued it. I was content in being a bedroom DJ“.
“Eventually life got in the way and I kind of grew out of love with mixing and fell out of love with drum and bass in general“
“During lockdown, however, with a lot of time on my hands, I found myself addicted to the live streams that were being put out by the likes of Hospital Records, Goat Shed & the like, I found my love for D&B, specifically the recent resurgence in jungle coming back more invigorated than ever!“
“I decided to buy a DJ controller and made it my aim to not only get behind the decks again, but to actually go one step further and get out there this time and get my mixes heard“.
“3 Months later I sent off a mix to Adam at Goat Shed and, to my amazement, was asked to become a resident off the back of that one mix! Not only that but I have also just begun a bi-monthly show on Rough Tempo Radio which is like a dream come true. As well as this Showcase Sessions set I’ve also provided guest mixes for Raw DnB, Loaded Bass & more“.
Another great example of how someone has turned the chaos of the past year into a positive!!
