The Drum & Bass Awards 2021 took place this evening via an online stream which was simultaneously broadcast across Facebook Live on the The Drum & Bass Awards, Raveology, Run Tingz, Rough Tempo, The Drum & Bass Bible & Epidemik pages.
While events have been few & far between this past year, the organisers of this awards show stated ahead of time that, “The awards this year will be based on the continuous hard work and efforts of industry personnel, with both online and offline content considered.”
Crown Of Thorns

This was the first year in their 15 year history that The Drum & Bass Awards have been judged by a carefully selected panel of industry professionals. For the past decade & a half the nominees & award winners have been selected by a public vote, although some of the results haven’t always gone down well with the public!
Of course these sorts of shows are always controversial. In his opening words Majika, the founder of & man behind these awards, made reference to the feedback that is often aimed his way when results get announced by saying “it’s great to see what people have to say about the results, good or bad”. He went on to say that The Drum & Bass Awards is a “crown of thorns“, “but it shows how passionate everybody is” about this musical genre.
DRS, the winner of 3 awards, intimated that he didn’t agree with “our art & work being judged” as “art is subjective to the beholder“.
