This morning Tyke made a long overdue return to the legendary Playaz label with a brilliant new single & slick music video to back it up.
For this release, his first on Playaz since 2020, Tyke teams up with his long-time mate and production partner Recipe, and trust me, they’ve cooked up something special!!
Mind Games
‘Mind Games’ was premiered on DJ Target’s BBC 1Xtra show this week and it’s looking to be one Tykes biggest Playaz releases to date! Centred around the exquisite vocals of Dakota Sixx, ‘Mind Games’ is infused with a lush and catchy musical vibe. If you’re a fan of Shy FX recent output then this will be right up your street.
The video for ‘Mind Games’ features footage from Tykes studio & DJ Hypes ‘Playaz Dungeon’. While it mainly follows vocalistDakota Sixx, keep your eyes peeled for appearances from DJ Hype, Daddy Earl,Recipe & of course Tyke himself.
Tyke & Recipe ‘Mind Games’ feat.Dakota Sixx is out now exclusively on Spotify & Beatport with the full release dropping across all major music sites on Christmas Eve.
Who Is Tyke?

While he’s been releasing music since 2008, Tyke really came to the forefront in 2012 with the anthem ‘Infected Headphones’ on Twisted Individual’s Grid Recordings label. ‘Infected Headphones’ was a staple with both Fabio & Grooverider on BBC Radio 1, Crissy Criss on BBC Radio 1Xtra, and DJ Hype on Kiss FM.
In 2013, following the success of ‘Infected Headphones’, Tyke signed to the Playaz roster of artists alongside the likes of DJ Hazard, Sub Zero, Taxman, Original Sin & Annix.
Since signing to Playaz Tyke has released an impressive 7 EP’s & 3 singles on the label, including the brilliant tracks ‘Blessing’ featuring Daddy Earl, ‘They Must Come’, ‘Lion Of Judah’ & ‘Dream Catcher’ featuring Yisrael on vocals.
Tyke’s sound is notoriously bass-heavy and charged with a musical knowledge and creative, scope that makes all of his tracks worth a listen.
Holographic Audio
As well as releasing on Playaz, Tyke also has his own Holographic Audio label where, as well as dropping a handful of his own productions, he pushes out some great drum & bass music from artists such as Prestige, Nick The Lot, Particle, Lovell, Hexa & Damage Report.
