Glitch City Has teamed up with Loopmasters to proudly present – ’Galactic Drum & Bass Essentials’, the latest powerhouse addition to the Loopmasters drum and bass sample pack collection.
Glitch City emerged on the scene in 2016 after being announced as the first signing to The Prototypes’ label, Get Hype Records. His debut single, Black Hole Skank, was supported by UKF following its exclusive first play on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Friction. He is also recognised for his productions under the previous alias, Samy Nicks (& Rekwest).
After a series of heavy releases on Get Hype Records, Glitch City expanded his production portfolio, creating dancefloor anthems for respected labels such as Technique Recordings, Viper Recordings, Ram’s sister label ProgRam, Formation Records, and of course our own LoveThatBass label.
Glitch has performed internationally at clubs and festivals, with notable highlights including a residency at Fabric Nightclub in London, DJ SS’s World of Drum & Bass USA Tour, and the Let It Roll Festival.
At the beginning of 2024, he relocated to a new studio, launching Culture FM, alongside former graduate colleague, Agro. Known for his high-energy sets and innovative production, Glitch City has solidified his position in the music industry.
Influenced by his debut title “Black Hole Skank”, expect an array of cosmic leads, weighty space-bass tones, and punch-impacting drums. Glitch’s production stems from a combination of Music Technology & Sound Engineering at A-Level grade, classical training in piano and violin, recording for live musicians, tuition from recognised producers, in particular Heist and Circadian, as well as gaining a degree in Music & Business Management.
Galactic Drum & Bass has been recorded and engineered utilising a variety of instruments, hardware, and digital synthesisers – recording any sound that cuts the cloth on the frequency spectrum. Inside, you’ll find rumbling basslines, full drum loops paired with matching tops, and a variety of arpeggios, leads, and pads. A selection of effects is also included, perfect for creating seamless transitions and adding dimension to your tracks.
Lots of music derives from sampling in one way or another, but originality is key. Use these to create and be inspired by in your compositions. Twist them up, get imaginative with your sound design, chop, and change them and have fun!
