FRESH DRUM & BASS FROM NEW ZEALAND’S HOTTEST NEW ARTIST
LoveThatBass kick off the new year with a new artist to the label… In their quest to source great drum & bass music the label has secured their first release of 2023 from the other side of the planet!!
The popularity of drum and bass music has been growing for almost 25 years, but the past 3 to 4 years have seen the genre really take root, with huge festivals with the D&B genres headline artists highlighting the country’s love for heavyweight basslines.
Still only in his teens, Kbyat (pronounced kay-bee-at) is quickly becoming a voice for this new generation of New Zealand bass music lovers, despite not even being old enough to get into the events his music is being played at!!
Since one of his tracks blew up on TikTok Kbyat has had the young people of NZ fully engaged with him & his music. His recent release on DeVice rocked the 30,000 strong crowd at Rampage Festival in the hands of Rene LaVice (formerly of BBC Radio 1).
‘Free Falling’ is big room drum & bass at its finest. An energetic bassline, embellished with catchy vocals, all underpinned by punchy breaks, guaranteed to be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
Watch out for Kbyat, this is just the beginning for this young talent.
