Description
As an artist Oversight has been putting the work in over the past few years mastering his craft & honing his studio skills. Recently though he seems to have really found his groove… The results of which are making people stop and take notice.
The ‘Open Your Eyes EP’ marks a new era in Oversight’s output with a grittier, more club orientated approach to his trademark liquid sound. What’s more, this is the first artist EP to be released on the LoveThatBass label.
The EP opens with ‘Walking In The Dark’, skippy breaks, lush pads & heavy basslines combine to create a club shaking anthem. This track sounds like it takes influence from the headonistic nights at seminal London D&B venue The End.
‘Open Your Eyes’, the title track for the EP, features Oversight’s lush liquid sound. Pitched vocals, sub low basslines, haunting melodies, and most importantly space… Each element of this track has room to breathe & shine. You will find yourself playing this over & over.
Track 3 hits a little differently! ‘One Time’ is a deep, steppy, riddim track. This just begs you to play it a high volume. Close your eyes and it transports your mind to an intimate, sweaty club venue with a killer sound system… Real underground sounds!
Oversight rounds off the ‘Open Your Eyes EP’ with a re-lick of ‘Photographs’. The original version of ‘Photographs’ received airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra & regional stations via BBC Introducing, and was supported by Annie Mac, Friction, Crissy Criss, B-Traits, & Abbie McCarthy.
